Scarily, the UK has more than 850,000 reported cases of people experiencing food poisoning a year, according to the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
NHS Choices has issued a Top 10 Tips to prevent food poisoning and we’re particularly interested in the Top 2 as our range of antibacterial hand washes and cleaners are tested to BSEN1276 Standard and proven to kill 99.9% harmful germs, including E Coli, Salmonella and MRSA.
Here are the Top 2, but please follow the link below for the full Ten Ways to Prevent Food Poisoning article;
1. Wash your hands
Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and hot water and dry them before handling food, after handling raw foods including meat, fish, eggs and vegetables, as well as after touching the bin, going to the toilet, blowing your nose, or touching animals, including pets.
2. Wash worktops
Wash worktops before and after preparing food, particularly after they’ve been touched by raw meat, including poultry, raw eggs, fish and vegetables. You don’t need to use antibacterial sprays: hot soapy water is fine. (although we would argue that it pays to be extra careful and we advise using an antibacterial spray wherever possible – Sara and Lloyd.)
